For a few, they’re truly passionate about what they do. To provide an example unrelated to milkshakes, people all around the world got up out of their bed today and went into a place they call “work” to do something they call a “job.”Įach one of these people had different motivations. The concept can easily be thought of as the outcome someone is looking to achieve. Here’s a great explanation of the basic theory: It was later popularized by the likes of Clayton Christensen, Harvard Business School professor and author of The Innovator’s Dilemma. In JTBD terms, this is called “hiring.”Īnthony Ulwick, Founder and CEO of Strategyn, first developed the concept of Jobs to be Done. It provides insight into the situational context people find themselves in when looking to solve a problem they have. It helps you learn about the process people go through to get something done. It helps you better understand what motivates people. Jobs to be Done (JTBD) is a framework for assessing market opportunity. With that out the way, let’s start with a quick introduction. “Knowing your customer and their Jobs to be Done also means knowing your competitors.” Then do the only thing that matters: put the process to the test. But rather than a rally cry for support if you’re an advocate, or writing me off completely if you’re not, I propose you take the time to read. I’m not the first-nor will I be the last-to write about Jobs to be Done. This is where Jobs to be Done enters the picture. We need to learn, and we need to get close to our customer. We may not have a clear hypothesis, and we need to go out into the world and discover. I cannot count how many people I have seen come and go through this company and barely make it through the training period.“Why do so few organizations understand their customers?” However, if your main provider is out, there is no guarantee that you will get another provider’s charts to complete during your assigned shift which means that you may or may not work that day.ģ) Without getting into too much detail, I found that a few upper level management have a cliquey vibe and can be rude and intense at times (I say this with talking to other coworkers and former coworkers who have had the same exact experience).Ĥ) I feel like the turnover rate for this company is extremely high. Also, raises have been given once since I’ve been here and there are absolutely no quarterly or annual bonuses.Ģ) I will say that hours are extremely flexible and you get to choose your hours. This is not sustainable long term and is very low in wages compared to cost of living basically everywhere in the US. With that being said, there are a few main things I should point out:ġ) Pay- It is very low for the amount of work and extra duties that are assigned to you. I do not want to get into too much detail however, I will first start in saying that this job is an okay place to start if you absolutely NEED healthcare experience. ![]()
